Your photographs are gorgeous, and you are really a pro with figuring out lighting, angles, and color! I love it! You mention on your blogspot you use Photoshop Lightroom- what do you do in Lightroom with your photographs? I haven't ever had decent photo editing software and I just got some so I'm trying to figure out what to do! Thank you!
Honestly, I do photo tips when I feel like I’m decent at something & I haven’t made one on editing b/c I’m still figuring it out. One of my biggest things is just increasing the exposure, I tend to shoot my pictures a bit dark for some reason (I think it’s b/c I’m pale and if I shoot too bright then I lose all depth, but a happy medium would be nice). So mostly I brighten, crop, play with the colors a bit (usually make the temperature warmer, altho sometimes I play with greens to look more blue), and usually add a subtle vignette cause I’m a sucker for vignette. As an example here’s a pic from today’s post:
How has your style changed from when you were fifteen? Oh, you are also amazingly beautiful :) have a good day
It’s changed like a million times over. When I was 15 I was very shy and self-conscious (still shy, not self-conscious) and my family is pretty conservative so things I wanted to try were curbed (no dyeing my hair, etc). But let’s see when I was 15 I had like 3 pairs of shoes and mostly wore a beat-up pair of white sneakers and ill fitting jeans and tees; I had one green and pink striped sweater I wore almost once a week and got endlessly teased about my clothes at school. I perceived my legs as pretty awful looking (cause they’re so pale & ~other stuff~) so I basically never wore skirts. Oh! And I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup so no winged eyeliner which now I don’t go a day without; my boyfriend thinks I should get it tattooed on (side note: my parents aren’t really crazy/intense, my mom just thought I didn’t need makeup and healthy hair is good hair—fashion/style/beauty regimes weren’t a topic in my house, I didn’t even read a fashion magazine until my senior year of high school cause I’m weird like that). For me I didn’t really start to figure out what I liked to wear and then get the confidence to wear it until a senior in high school and even then it was just starting to wear skirts. It wasn’t until college that I started to experiment with makeup and really wore interesting clothes. I mean I never liked my style at 15, it was just what I had and I thought other clothes looked pretty, but weren’t really accessible to me. I didn’t think I would look good in the clothes I liked and I didn’t know that “normal” people could dress up just because they wanted to. To me good style existed in old movies and eventually when I read them, fashion magazines—it wasn’t out there in the real world being worn by really short girls with body image issues! Honestly finding personal style blogs in college changed everything. Starting mine own helped me get over my misconceptions about what I looked like and figure out my style.
Tldr: I went from jeans, tees, self-conscious bookworm to dresses, winged eyeliner, (temporarily) pink-haired bookworm. Life’s interesting.
